Pakistan: The death toll from a suicide bombing in Bajaur has risen to 42

  


Voice 9, International Desk: According to ARY News, the death toll from the Bajaur bombing in Pakistan's Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province on Sunday has grown to 42, with at least 111 people injured. The bomb in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa's Bajaur's Khar tehsil targeted a Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam Fazl (JUI-F) workers' convention. Rescue personnel and police units rushed to the scene to begin transporting the injured to a nearby hospital.

According to Geo News, the fatal incident occurred at 4 p.m., as the JUI-F head was addressing the convention. The bombing was a suicide assault, according to Inspector General of Police (IGP) Akhtar Hayat Khan, who added that 10 kg of explosives were utilized in the incident. He also stated that the investigative teams are gathering evidence from the bomb site.
