Srivastab, New Delhi, Voice 9: Tomorrow, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will lead
the nation in commemorating the 77th anniversary of India's independence from
the renowned Red Fort in Delhi. From the ramparts of the ancient landmark, he
will raise the national flag and give a customary speech to the country. This
year, around 1,800 privileged guests will attend the Prime Minister's
Independence Day flag hoisting event at the Red Fort.
Seventy-five
(75) couples from each state or union territory have also been invited to
attend the ceremony at Red Fort in traditional outfits.
As
the nation's capital gets ready to mark the 77th anniversary of its
independence on Tuesday, extensive arrangements have been made in anticipation
of a large crowd. Close monitoring is being maintained, according to Delhi
Police, in light of the recent violence in Haryana's Nuh and surrounding
districts.
The
Delhi Police have increased security in the national capital ahead of the
Independence Day celebrations. Police officers inspected vehicles as security
was increased around Delhi. Rail Bhawan and Krishi Bhawan have also been
illuminated with tri-color lights in honor of Independence Day. Since
Independence Day, Red Post has also increased security.
According
to the alert, eight routes would be blocked to the general public: Netaji
Subhash Marg, Lothian Road, S.P. Mukherjee Marg, Chandni Chowk Road, Nishad Raj
Marg, Esplanade Road and its Link Road, Ring Road from Rajghat to ISBT, and
Outer Ring Road from ISBT to IP Flyover.
Travelers
heading from north to south Delhi would have to use other routes through
Aurobindo Marg, Safdarjung Road, Kamal Ataturk Marg, Kautilya Marg, Mother
Teresa Crescent, Park Street, Mandir Marg, and Rani Jhansi Road.
This
year's Independence Day will culminate the 'Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav'
celebrations, which were launched by the Prime Minister on March 12, 2021, from
the Sabarmati Ashram in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, and will usher the country into
'Amrit Kaal' with renewed vigor to realize Shri Narendra Modi's dream of making
India a developed country by 2047.
The
National War Memorial, India Gate, Vijay Chowk, New Delhi Railway Station,
Pragati Maidan, Raj Ghat, Jama Masjid Metro Station, Rajiv Chowk Metro Station,
Delhi Gate Metro Station, ITO Metro Gate, Naubat Khana, and Sheesh Ganj
Gurudwara all have selfie points dedicated to various government schemes and
initiatives.
