Karnataka police arrested two men after they publish offensive videos on social media.



Voice 9, News Desk: Tuesday saw the arrest of two men in the Yadgir district of Karnataka for reportedly sharing offensive videos on social media. After videos shared on Instagram became viral, the Yadgir district police opened a case on their own.

The accused men were identified by the police as Mohammed Ayaz, 21, and Akbar Syed Bahadur Ali, 23.

The case was filed in accordance with sections 153 of the Indian Penal Code (provocation to any person knowing that such provocation will likely result in the commission of the offense of rioting) and 153 (2) (Whoever commits an offense specified in sub-section (2) in any place of worship or in any assembly engaged in the performance of religious worship).

Right-wing Hindu organization the Hindu Janajagruti Samiti's state spokesperson, Mohan Gowda, sent a tweet in which he urged the authorities to take action against the offenders. @DgpKarnataka, @blrcitytraffic, and @alokkumar6994 are respected On August 8, he had said on X (formerly known as Twitter): "Kindly Register FIR and Arrest culprit who provocate Community."
