Upon opening the sack, the newborn female infant's cry was audible



Voice 9, Dhaka Bureau: A baby girl has been found alive, wrapped in a sack, on the banks of the Kankari River in Comilla's Chauddagram. The incident took place on Friday (September 8) evening. At present, he is with Shakhawat Hossain Sabuj and Nasrin Akter of Ramchandrapur village in Kashinagar Union. Upazila Nirbahi Officer Md. Tanvir Hossain confirmed the matter on Saturday.

Local Kalabagan Tarun Sangha president Md. Abdul Momin said local people heard the sound of a child crying on the banks of the Kankari River behind the club on Friday evening. Later, several people gathered there and found a white sack. He opened the mouth of the sack and saw a newly-born girl. When the matter came to light in the immediate area, many people wanted to adopt the newborn.

With the permission of the administration, the child was kept with the childless couple Sabuj and Nasreen of Ramchandrapur village for care.

Noor Hossain Rajib, a resident of Rampanchandrapur village, said Hanif Mia, a local farmer, went to collect kachu flowers on the banks of the river on Friday afternoon and saw a white sack. There were cries coming from there.

Later, he told the locals that he suspected something was in it. Later, people came and rescued the child. The child was immediately taken to a local doctor for treatment. Later, the child was kept with Sakhawat Hossain Sabuj and Nasrin Akter of Ramchandrapur village.

Shakhawat Hossain Sabuj said on Saturday, "We have no children in our three years of married life. We are a childless couple. I'm so happy to have the newborn. I hope the administration will consider my case and formally hand over the newborn to me.

Nasrin Akhter, the wife of Shakhawat Hossain Sabuj, said, "God has mercy on me. I want to make the child human."

Trinath Saha, officer-in-charge of Chauddagram Police Station, said the newborn had been temporarily kept with the Sabuj-Nasrin couple. After the legal process, the newborn will be permanently kept by the couple."

Upazila Nirbahi Officer Md Tanvir Hossain said, "After getting the information, I bought new clothes for the child through the social service officer and sent them to the house of the Sabuj-Nasrin couple. The child is estimated to be three or four days old. In the future, arrangements will be made to keep the child with them by performing the legal process so that there is no problem."
