Voice 9, Dhaka Bureau: Bagerhat: An alleged incident of rape involving a ninth-grade student has occurred in Rampal upazila of Bagerhat. Two people have been apprehended by the police in connection with this incident. The incident transpired in the Ronsen Mor area of Rampal Upazila on Friday afternoon.
According to SM Ashraful Alam, the officer-in-charge
of Rampal Police Station, the student, who is in the ninth grade, left his
residence in the Ronsen area of the upazila on Friday afternoon to attend
coaching classes. However, due to a sudden physical ailment, he deviated from
his intended route and instead went to a nearby residence belonging to someone
known as Mama. It was at this point that Rahmat, aged 26, and Sheikh Russell
Sheikh, aged 26, intercepted the girl while she was in the Ronsen Mor area on
the Khulna-Mongla highway and transported her on a motorcycle.
Subsequently, they took her to Palash's house in the
Bara Durgapur Putimari area of the upazila. There, Rakib Hossain Sajal, who was
already present, along with the aforementioned kidnappers, Rahmat and Sheikh
Rasel Sheikh, subjected her to periodic acts of rape.
At some point during the night, the perpetrators
released the victim, and she managed to return home. She then dialed 999 to
seek assistance. Following this, the police arrested Rakib Hossain Sajal and
Sheikh Russell Sheikh. A formal police complaint has been filed in relation to
this incident. Ongoing efforts are being made to apprehend the remaining
fugitives involved in this case.
