Voice 9, Dhaka Bureau: A tragic
incident occurred on Wednesday (October 11) at 9 a.m. in Paikgacha, Khulna,
resulting in the unfortunate death of a two-and-a-half-year-old girl named
Tashpiya.
Tashpiya was the daughter of Alauddin Gazi, a
resident of Alamtala village in the Lashkar Union of Upazila. According to
Alauddin Gazi, he had brought Tashpiya home after completing his paddy
threshing duties on Wednesday morning.
While walking along the road, his baby daughter
was following him. Due to her crying, he temporarily left the van on the road
and carried the threshed rice on his head.
Unbeknownst to him, Tashpiya had fallen into a
nearby pond during this time. It was only when he finished delivering the rice
and began searching for his daughter that he discovered her lifeless body
floating in the pond by the roadside.
Alauddin Gazi immediately retrieved her from the
water and rushed her to Has Patal. Unfortunately, Dr. Ruksana Afroz (Tanya),
the attending physician at the hospital, declared Tashpiya dead.
