Locals recovered clothes, including the head of the jail, around 8 aa.m.on SSunday, October11. hipper is the son of Faruk Hawlader of Paschim Rajapur vvillage, adjacent to the Sundarbans in Sarankhola upazila.

Upazila Parishad member Md. Kamal Hossain Talukder said the shipper entered the Sundarbans alone on Wednesday (September 27) without telling anyone from his house. His father, Faruk Hawlader, had earlier gone to fish at different places in the Sundarbans with a permit from the Forest Department's Dhansagar station office.

On Saturday afternoon, Faruk Hawlader came to know that his son Shipper had been missing for four days. He then searched the Sundarbans near his house and did not find his son, and he told the locals. The next morning, about 50 locals, led by him, started searching in the Sundarbans.

At one point, around 8 a.m., he saw a shipper sitting with his head in the Tulatala canal area of the forest. At this time, the locals gathered, drove the tiger away, and recovered the shipper's mutilated head. The nearby forest was then searched, and his clothes were recovered. They believe the tiger had previously eaten the shipper's entire body. According to religious tradition, a shipper's head will be buried at the family graveyard on Sunday afternoon.

Md. Rabiul Islam, dhansagar station officer of the Chandpai range of the forest department, said the shipper's house was adjacent to the Sundarbans, and he entered the forest alone without taking permission from the forest department. We learned about the incident after the locals searched for him in the morning and brought his head. Due to the drying up of the Bhola River, many of the locals run away at night and enter the Sundarbans.
