Voice 9, Patna: In separate incidents, 34 people lost their lives during Chhath. Thirty-four people lost their lives in various districts of the state during the festival. Among the deceased, eight were children under the age of eight, four were young adults, and one was a woman.
The twin brothers' ages were
around two years, and the third victim was a teenager approximately five years
old. During the Chhath Puja festival, a tragic incident occurred in Patna where
three individuals, including twin brothers, lost their lives by drowning in the
Brahmapur pond of Sampatchak.
The unfortunate incident took
the lives of two brothers, who were approximately 42 years old. Following this
devastating accident, local residents expressed their anger by blocking the
Patna bypass near Khemnichak Jaganpura for an hour.
In contrast, in Ramdaschak
village of Baraia Panchayat in the Dighwara police station area of Saran
district, a tragic incident occurred during Monday morning's Argha. Three
individuals from the same family lost their lives by drowning in the deep
waters of the Ganga.
Among them, two teenage girls
tragically perished. Additionally, a 24-year-old named Anshu, who had gone to
offer prayers in Kesave village of Barauni Refinery police station area in
Begusarai, also lost his life due to drowning. Furthermore, another unfortunate
incident took place in Alinagar, Darbhanga, where Kapil (36) lost his life by
drowning after slipping from the stairs of Akhauri Pokhar Chhath Ghat and
falling into the pond.
Similarly, various other
casualties have been reported across different regions of Bihar. These include
the deaths of two teenagers, a youth, and a child in Bhagalpur; a 2-year-old
teenager in Katihar; two boys and two women in Mahhepura; and a girl and three
youths in Khagar.
