Voice 9, Hyderabad: Four construction workers lost their lives and 10 others sustained severe injuries on Monday morning when a slab collapsed at an under-construction function hall in Kanakamamidi, Moinabad. The rescue operations were carried out by the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) teams, who utilized specialized equipment to safely extract the workers and clear the debris. The unfortunate incident occurred at approximately 11:30 a.m. at a site adjacent to a sports complex.

Venkat Ranga stated that the construction slab unexpectedly collapsed,
resulting in the entrapment of workers and causing a significant loss of life
and injuries. The injured laborers are currently receiving medical treatment
for their severe injuries. A comprehensive investigation is currently in
progress to determine the factors that contributed to the collapse of the
construction slab.
The primary focus of the
investigation is to identify any potential lapses in safety measures and
construction protocols that may have led to this unfortunate incident. GHMC
director (vigilance) Prakash Reddy expressed his deep sorrow over the tragic
event, emphasizing that all necessary measures are being taken to thoroughly
investigate the cause of the collapse and ensure accountability. Out of the
affected workers, three lost their lives immediately at the scene, while the
fourth individual passed away while being transported to the hospital.
