Voice 9, International News: The
Colorado Springs Police Department is still in pursuit of Kimberlee Singler, a
35-year-old woman suspected of murdering her two young children and injuring
another. Initially, the police responded to a burglary report at Singler's
residence on December 19. Singler initially cooperated with the investigation
but later vanished as the probe progressed. It was later determined that the
burglary report was baseless.
According to Ira Cronin, the
spokesperson for the Colorado Springs Police Department, the police managed to
gather enough evidence to obtain an arrest warrant for Singler on Tuesday.
However, they believe that she had already fled by that time.
Singler, who was not under
surveillance, was last spotted in Colorado Springs on Saturday, according to
Cronin. Initially, authorities treated her as a victim of a burglary during the
early stages of the investigation. Police responded to a 911 call reporting a
burglary at an apartment complex around 12:30 a.m. on December 19.
Tragically, they discovered the
lifeless bodies of Singler's 9-year-old daughter and 7-year-old son. Singler
and her 11-year-old daughter were also injured and transported to hospitals for
medical attention. Cronin refrained from disclosing specific details regarding
the injuries sustained by the children and Singler. The 11-year-old girl was
hospitalized for a few days before being discharged. Currently, she is
recuperating well physically in Colorado Springs and is not in the company of
her mother.
Singler's injuries, on the
other hand, were minor. Cronin did not confirm whether Singler herself had
reported the burglary. In the search for Singler, the FBI is providing
assistance at the request of the police, as stated by Vikki Migoya, a
spokesperson for the agency's Denver office, on Thursday.
