Voice 9, Dhaka Bureau: Forest officials have recovered the dead body of a Royal Bengal Tiger from a canal adjacent to the station of the eastern Sundarbans in Bagerhat.
On Monday night (February 12), the dead tiger was recovered from a canal in the Kachikhali area of the Shoronkhola Range of the eastern Sundarbans forest division. This marks the recovery of three dead bodies of Royal Bengal Tigers in the last four years. This information has been confirmed by Mihir Kumar De, the forest conservator of Khulna.He stated that the cause of the tiger's death would be determined through a post-mortem examination. For this purpose, a team from the wildlife department was sent to Kachikhali on Tuesday morning (February 13) in coordination with the wildlife department. Once the post-mortem report is obtained, the exact cause of death will be known. Additionally, the forest department officials also informed us that after the post-mortem examination of the recovered tiger, other details, such as how the tiger died and its age, will be known through further investigation within the forest department.
After the post-mortem examination of the recovered tiger, the body is buried within the Sundarbans itself.
