Voice 9, Dhaka Bureau: A young woman named Marufa (19) has been arrested by the hospital authorities for attempting to abduct a child from a clinic in Chapainawabganj. The incident took place on Tuesday evening at Max Hospital in the city of Chapainawabganj.
Marufa, who was arrested, is the daughter of Munirul Islam from Dhapapara Mohalla in Chapainawabganj municipality area. According to hospital sources, Marufa was trying to abduct a 7-year-old girl from Max Hospital. She managed to take the child to her, but later the young woman entered the clinic again in search of the child.
At that time, the staff of the institution arrested her and later handed her over to the police. OC Mintu Rahman of Chapainawabganj Sadar Model Police Station said that the arrested Marufa is physically disabled. He also mentioned that she attempted to abduct another child from the clinic. It is initially assumed that she abducted the child to claim ransom from her family. OC further stated that a case will be filed against the arrested young woman.
A case will be filed against the accused, the OC added. Legal action will be taken against those involved in the incident.
