Talking to the police and locals, it was revealed that Aryan Sheikh, the 3-year-old child of Farhad Sheikh of Charlatima village in the upazila, went missing from in front of his house around 4 p.m. on Wednesday, February 28. Searches were conducted in the area after the child was not found in the house of the neighbors. Around 8:30 p.m., neighbors found Aryan's body lying next to a bathroom and informed the police. Upon receiving information, the police recovered the body and took it to the police station.Police have arrested Hamim Sheikh, 15, son of Ramzan Sheikh of Charlatima village, in connection with the incident. Sumi Akter, mother of the deceased, filed a murder case with Chitalmari police station on Thursday morning, February 29, accusing Hamim Sheikh. Case No. 14.
The victim's father, Farhad Sheikh, lamented, "Hamim Sheikh is my neighbor. I have no dispute with them. I didn't think he would kill my son. He demanded exemplary punishment from the culprit.
Chitalmari police station Officer-in-Charge (OC), Md. Ikram Hossain, said: "We have recovered several pieces of evidence from the spot. Hamim Sheikh, 15, the son of his neighbor Ramzan Sheikh, has been arrested in connection with the murder. The reason behind the murder has not been ascertained yet. The matter is being investigated.
