Voice 9, Dhaka Bureau: A student of Shaheed Mansur Ali Medical College and Hospital in Sirajganj has been shot dead. Riaan Sharif. He was later rescued and admitted to a hospital.The incident took place on the medical college campus around 3 p.m. on Monday (March 4). The students are demanding action against the teacher. The police are trying to control the situation.
The accused, Dr. Raihan, is a teacher of community medicine at Sharif College. The injured is Arafat Amin, a third-year student at Tamal Medical College.
Confirming the matter, Shaheed Munsur Ali Medical College Principal Md. Amirul Hossain said, "I am in Dhaka. The teacher sometimes came to the campus with a weapon. As far as I know, today the students expressed their inability to take his class on time. At one point, the teacher shot Tamal in the leg.
The principal said the student is now out of danger and undergoing treatment at Mansoor Ali Medical College Hospital.
Sirajganj Superintendent of Police (SP) Arifur Rahman Mondal said: "The students are saying that a teacher shot a student. The situation is a bit tense at the moment. However, the police are trying to control the situation.
He said the student was shot in the upper right thigh. However, he was not seriously injured, as his mobile phone was in his pocket. He is currently out of danger. Accused teacher Appropriate legal action will be taken against him.
