Voice 9, New Delhi Bureau: In a tragic turn of events, a 25-year-old trainee physician reportedly took his own life by hanging in his hostel quarters at Maulana Azad Medical College, Delhi, on Sunday, as confirmed by police sources to PTI.
The somber incident unfolded around 7:10 PM, involving a second-year MD (Doctor of Medicine) student, identified as Navdeep, according to a senior official. Concerned for his well-being, Navdeep's parents had implored a friend to check on him after he became unresponsive to their calls, the officer elaborated.
Upon arrival, the friend discovered that Navdeep's hostel room door was secured from the inside. After breaking it open, they found him suspended, prompting immediate intervention.
"Inquest proceedings are currently in progress. At this juncture, no suicide note has been recovered," the officer remarked, underscoring the ongoing investigation into this heartbreaking incident.
