Bangladesh: 5 killed as two buses collide in Faridpur


Voice 9, Dhaka Bureauঃ At least five people have been killed in a head-on collision between two buses on the Faridpur-Khulna highway. At least 30 people were injured. The incident took place around 5:00 pm on Tuesday. The injured were admitted to Faridpur Medical College Hospital. 

Karimpur police station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Md. Salauddin Chowdhury confirmed that a passenger bus, Green Express, heading to Jhenaidah from Abdullahpur in Dhaka, collided head-on with another passenger bus, Khagrachhari Paribahan, coming from Shyamnagar in Satkhira. Five people died on the spot.
The highway police OC confirmed that all the deceased were passengers of Khagrachhari transport.



The injured have been taken to various hospitals. Of them, 27 were admitted to Faridpur Medical College Hospital. The details of the deceased are yet to be known.
