A Brazilian national detained for trying to enter India illegally


Maharajganj (UP): According to police, on Tuesday, a Brazilian national was detained here for allegedly trying to enter India without a valid visa and other necessary documentation. 

Joaquim dos Santos Neto (37), according to Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) Atish Kumar Singh, was detained by the Sashastra Seema Bal (SB) during a regular check-in at Sonouli, the border crossing with Nepal. He was found in possession of a Brazilian passport but lacked any documents for an Indian visa, Singh added. Sonouli is a well-known transit location between India and Nepal, situated along their shared border. A complaint has been launched against the accused, and the Intelligence Bureau has been alerted, Singh added.
