Voice 9, News Desk: Five people were killed and four others were injured after a sports utility vehicle lost control while taking a hairpin curve and fell down a canyon in the Kateru region of the Sundernagar subdivision of Mandi district.
The incident occurred on Thursday night. According to authorities, the car was traveling from Sundernagar. The vehicle's passengers were going home after visiting Kamrunag temple when the tragedy occurred. According to preliminary findings, the driver lost control of the car, and the wounded driver left the scene.
The deceased, who were all inhabitants of villages near Sundernagar, were named as Lala Ram, 50; Roop Lal, 55; Sunil Kumar, 35; Gobind Ram, 60; and Mohan, 55.
When giving details about the incident, Sundernagar deputy superintendent of police Dinesh Kumar stated, "The victims were returning after paying respects at the temple of Dev Kamru Nag, the principal deity of Mandi district.
The driver lost control while they were navigating a tight turn. At Shri Lal Bahadur Shastri Government Medical College in Ner Chowk, the injured have been hospitalized.
