2 held from the Benapole border with 18 gold bars



Biswajit Mondal, Dhaka Bureau, Voice 9: Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) arrested two smugglers from the Daulatpur border under Benapole Port Police Station in Jessore with 18 gold bars weighing 2 kg to 300 kg. Around 4 p.m. on Monday, police discovered 18 gold bars hidden between the smugglers' toilets and shoe soles in front of Daulatpur Government Primary School.




It is worth Rs. 1.8 crore on the market. Milon Hossain, 35, son of Rabiul of Putkhali village under Benapole Port Police Station, and Shahzaman, 26, son of Mikail of Boolia village under the same upazila, were arrested. Tanvir Rahman, commander of Khulna 21 Battalion BGB, stated that 18 gold bars had been found in a peculiar way. The seized gold bars will be given over to Jessore Customs Treasury via Benapole Port Police Station, and a case against the accused has been filed and handed over to the police station.
