Voice 9, News Desk: A huge landslide at Gaurikund on the Kedarnath Yatra route in Uttarakhand's Rudraprayag area is suspected to have buried a large number of people. The search and rescue effort has been launched by a team from the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF). An official has expressed concern that ten to twelve individuals may have been buried or lost in the landslide.
The landslide occurred on Thursday night, August 3, in the Rudraprayag area of Uttarakhand. The landslide happened close to the Gaurikund Post Bridge following excessive rain, according to the news agency ANI. The landslide occurred after torrential rain near the Gaurikund Post Bridge. Three shops have been damaged.
ANI reported that teams of the district administration, disaster management, police, National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), and State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) were present on the spot.
