Voice 9, Delhi Bureau: An official said on Thursday that Delhi Police arrested a guy who was accused of masturbating and ejaculating a minor girl using the Delhi Metro's Red Line. The event happened on Wednesday at approximately 8:30 p.m. when the Metro train was full due to Raksha Bandhan celebrations. Meanwhile, the Delhi Commission for Women (DCW) also issued a notice to the Deputy Commissioner of Police (Metro) seeking the details of the apprehended man and steps taken to prevent such incidents in the future.
"The mother of the youngster caught the man ejaculating on her on the crowded train. When the woman raised the alarm, other passengers nabbed the suspect and handed him over to Delhi Metro officials. The spokesman added, " The woman and her daughter got down at the Seelampur station, and the accused, who hails from West Bengal, was handed over to the Metro authorities at Shahdara station. Later, the police were informed," the official added.
In a statement released on Thursday, the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) stated that such instances are "extremely unsavory and against the dignity of passengers and all societal norms."
"In this specific instance, we appreciate the response of the other travelers who alerted the DMRC employees to the issue. The DMRC staff acted quickly and turned over the offender to the police, who have now filed an FIR to take further required action.
The statement read, "We would once again ask our commuters to behave responsibly while using the Metro and contribute to establishing a friendly traveling atmosphere where all passengers, regardless of age or gender, may ride securely and comfortably.
