Maharashtra: Three, including a newly married couple, were killed when an autorickshaw fell into a well

Voice 9, News Desk: A tragedy struck as a newlywed couple and their cousin lost their lives when the autorickshaw they were traveling in veered off the road and plunged into a farm well at Goteshwar Mala on the Saswad-Jejuri road, approximately 50km away from the city, on Monday night.

Two other passengers, Aditya Gholap (22), who was driving the autorickshaw, and Shravani’s mother, Sheetal (40), survived. The incident took place around 9 p.m. in the Gotemala area on the outskirts of Saswad town, located around 35 km from Pune city.

Fortunately, the groom's aunt, Sheetal Sandip Shelar (38), and the auto driver, Aditya Gholap (22), managed to survive the ordeal after spending the night trapped in the 20-foot-deep well. Their cries for help were heard by two passersby around 6.15 a.m. on Tuesday, who promptly came to their rescue. The couple, Rohit Shelar (23) and Vaishnavi (18), had recently tied the knot just two days prior.

They were on their way back home after performing certain rituals at the Khandoba temple in Jejuri. Accompanying them to the temple were Rohit's aunt, Sheetal, and her daughter, Shravani. Tragically, the accident occurred while they were returning home in the autorickshaw driven by Gholap, a resident of Dhayari.
