Voice 9: Crime Desk: A woman was subjected to physical assault and public humiliation by her husband and in-laws in the Pratapgarh district of Rajasthan. A video of the incident has surfaced, prompting the Director General of Police to dispatch the ADG Crime to the location to take strict action.
The Chief Minister of Rajasthan, Ashok Gehlot, has condemned the actions of the perpetrators and has vowed to ensure that they are brought to justice through prosecution in a fast-track court.
Congress MLA Nagraj Meena has also expressed his condemnation of the incident and has held discussions with the District Collector and Superintendent of Police to ensure immediate action is taken. Such heinous acts have no place in a civilized society and must be met with the full force of the law.
Deputy Leader of the Opposition in Rajasthan assembly Satish Poonia says, "This incident is heartbreaking...I think that this incident of brutality has been added to the series of incidents of harassment and crimes against women in Rajasthan...This is an eye-opening incident for the Rajasthan Govt...We want the criminals to be punished through fast track as soon as possible."
