Voice 9, Dhaka Bureau: A tragic incident occurred in the Fakirhat upazila of
Bagerhat, where four members of a family were struck by a speeding truck on the
Khulna-Bagerhat highway. The father and daughter lost their lives as a result
of the collision, while the mother and daughter sustained severe injuries and
are currently receiving treatment in the ICU of a private hospital.
The accident took place at
Piljung Baluar Shop on Thursday at approximately 9:15 p.m. The driver of the
truck, Mohammad Shahjahan Sardar, 38, has been apprehended by the Katakhali
Highway Police in connection with the incident. The deceased have been
identified as Sohel Farazi, 33, and his five-year-old daughter Naureen, both
hailing from Khontakata village in Sarankhola upazila.
The injured parties have been
identified as Sohel Farazi's wife, Mini Begum, and his elder daughter,
Nausheen, 10. The post-mortem examination of the deceased father and daughter
has been conducted at Khulna Medical College Hospital, and their bodies are
currently being held in the hospital's mortuary. The family members of the
deceased have stated that the bodies will be transported to Sharankhola in the early
hours of Saturday.
According to Md. Mizanur
Rahman, officer-in-charge of Katakhali Highway Police Station, the four family
members were traveling on a motorcycle from Khulna to Sharankhola in Bagerhat
when the truck collided with them at Balua shop. All four individuals on the
motorcycle fell as a result of the impact and were subsequently taken to Khulna
Medical College Hospital, where they were pronounced dead by medical
professionals.
