Bihar: Vicious thieves arrested red-handed from North East Express

 


Voice 9, Patna (Bihar): The damaged coaches of the North East train, which was involved in an accident at  Raghunathpur station of the Buxar-Danapur railway section, are being constantly monitored by thieves.

Recently, the Railway Police apprehended three individuals for stealing cables from one of the coaches. On Monday, another thief was caught red-handed while cutting the cable, leading to the arrest of two others involved in the crime.

RPF Inspector Deepak Kumar reported that Assistant Sub Inspector Ramesh Kumar Singh and other personnel were monitoring the damaged coach at Raghunathpur railway station when they caught the thief in the act.

The thief, identified as Guddu Kumar from Sikraul Lakh, was found with a hexa blade, a wrench, a knife, and the stolen cut cable. During interrogation, he revealed that he and his friend Karthik from Bihiya had cut the battery cable two days prior and sold it to Mantu Gupta's shop near Bihiya police station.

A raid was conducted at the scrap shopkeeper in Bihiya on the thief's information, leading to the arrest of Karthik and Mantu Gupta along with the railway goods stolen earlier. All three were presented before the Railway Court and sent to jail after completing the necessary legal proceedings.
