One arrested near the Benapole border with 18 gold bars

 


Voice 9, Dhaka Bureau: Aktarul (20), a smuggler, was apprehended by Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) officials at the Putkhali border of Benapole Port Police Station in Jessore, Bangladesh. The arrest took place on Tuesday afternoon at the BGB post located at Masjid Bari on the border. The individual in custody, Aktarul Benapole, is the son of Abu Bakkar from Khalshi village in Port police station.

Khulna 21 BGB Battalion Assistant Director Muhit Hossain said that a patrol team of Putkhali camp arrested Aktarul from the BGB check post area near Putkhali Mosque. Later, after searching his body, 18 gold bars weighing two kilograms and eighty grams were recovered from the hidden state. The value of seized gold is one crore, 88 lakh, 34 thousand, 686 taka. The official said that they are in the process of filing a case against him at the Benapole Port Police Station and submitting the sopard and gold to the Jessore Treasury.
