3 troops die in gunfight with militants in Rajouri, 3 more injured

 


Voice 9, New Delhi Bureau: According to sources, a tragic incident occurred in the Dera Ki Gali (DKG) area of Poonch district on Thursday, resulting in the loss of three army soldiers' lives. The operation, which was based on reliable intelligence, was initiated on Wednesday night in the general vicinity of DKG, Thanamandi, and Rajouri.

The military spokesperson confirmed that at approximately 3:45 p.m. on Thursday, terrorists attacked two army vehicles that were transporting troops to the operational site. In a swift response, the army troops immediately retaliated against the gunfire, as stated by Jammu-based defense spokesperson Lt Col Suneel Bartwal. However, during the ongoing operation, three soldiers lost their lives, while three others sustained non-fatal injuries.

This unfortunate turn of events has prompted the dispatch of ambulances and reinforcements from 48 RR and 43 RR to the site. To ensure the safety of the public, an intelligence officer mentioned that movement in the area has been restricted. This measure aims to prevent any potential harm to civilians and maintain a secure environment during the ongoing operation. The loss of these brave soldiers is a tragic reminder of the constant threat posed by terrorists in the region.
