Voice 9, Burdwan: An overhead water tank on platform numbers 2 and 3 collapsed, resulting in the loss of three lives and injuries to at least 10 individuals.
The injured have been promptly transferred
to the Burdwan Medical College and Hospital for medical attention. Railway
officials, including personnel from RPF and GRP, as well as the state fire
services department crew, worked diligently to rescue the affected passengers.
The superintendent of the hospital has confirmed the unfortunate deaths.
The condition of three of the injured individuals is reported to be critical. All of the injured have been transferred to Burdwan Medical College and Hospital.
It has been learned that railway officials,
including personnel from RPF and GRP, as well as the state fire services

division were impacted, but Eastern Railway officials have confirmed that
services on platform numbers 1 and 4 at Burdwan station have now resumed. The
railroads have ordered an inquiry into the incident.
According to PTI, an ER official stated that a large metal water tank fell on waiting passengers on combined platforms 2 and 3 at Bardhaman station. The official also mentioned that three railway employees have been suspended.
