Selling dog meat as Khasi (goat) meat in Khulna, 4 arrested

 


Voice 9, Dhaka Bureau: Four people have been apprehended for engaging in the illicit sale of dog meat under the guise of goats in Khulna, Bangladesh. On Wednesday afternoon (December 13), the police arrested them within an abandoned structure located at Khulna Polytechnic Institute.

The detainees have been identified as Taj (16) from Dollar House Mor area in the city, Md Abu Said (37) residing in North Zone 23 of Khalishpur Bangbasi Mor area, Md Siam (16) hailing from No. 2 Navy Gate area, and Prem Sardar (16) from Charer Hat area. However, it is worth noting that two individuals named Arman and Utsha are currently evading arrest and are also implicated in this incident.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) Md. Anwar Hossain of Khalishpur Police Station stated that this criminal group has been engaged in the ruthless act of slaughtering dogs and illegally selling their meat as beef for Tk 400 per kg. This illegal activity has been ongoing for a considerable period, and they have been involved in similar incidents in the past. Just this afternoon, they were caught in the act of taking dogs from the streets and slaughtering them for their illicit trade. The authorities have apprehended them at the scene, and legal proceedings are currently underway against them.
