Voice 9, Dhaka Bureau: Bangladesh national women's cricket team cricketer Swarna Akter's two iPhones and $3,500 have been recovered. Police have arrested a young man in this connection.
The accused, Md Al-Amin Dewan Azan, is the husband of another female cricketer. They lived in the same flat. Commander Khandaker Al Moin, director of RAB's Legal and Media Division, confirmed the matter on Wednesday (January 31) morning.
He said $3,500, including two iPhones, was stolen from the house of national women's cricket team all-rounder Swarna Akter. Following the incident, RAB launched an investigation into the matter. On the basis of intelligence information, the accused Al-Amin fled from Dhaka and went into hiding in Dinajpur. He was later on arrested. The stolen items, including an iPhone, have been recovered.
Earlier on Monday (January 29), a bag containing an iPhone 13 Pro, an iPhone 13 mini, $3,500, six and a half thousand cash, birth certificate, Prime Bank cheque book and Prime Bank Visa card were stolen from the cricketer's flat in East Rajabazar. He lodged a complaint with the police.
In the case statement, cricketer Swarna Akter alleged that the accused Md Al-Amin, along with his three roommates, went to the Tejkunipara Khelaghar ground at around 9: 30am on January 29, leaving Dewan Azan at home. "At around 11: 30pm, Al-Amin came to the Dewan Adhan field and said to me," "Where is your mobile phone?" "" I mean, in my bag. He then took out two mobile phones from my bag, took some pictures and left the field at around 12 noon.
When she checked the bag, she found that her iPhone 13 Pro (worth Rs 1,18,000) and iPhone 13 Mini (worth Rs 81,000) were missing.
Swarna Akhter further alleged that she got a call from her roommate's phone on two mobile numbers and the phone was switched off. 12: 30 p.m. after practice
On returning home, I found the main door of the house locked. When I broke open the door and entered the house, I found that everything in the room was in a mess. They broke into my closet and stole $3,500. Taniya's roommate stole the bag containing Tk6,500, birth certificate, Prime Bank cheque book and Prime Bank's visa card.
