Voice 9, Dhaka Bureau: Three members of the same family were murdered by throat-cutting in Sirajganj. The police recovered the bodies of the deceased from their own home in the Baroyari Botola area of Tadash town on Tuesday morning (January 30) at 8 a.m.
The deceased are Vikash Sarkar (45), son of Kalicharan Sarkar of Baroyari Botola area of Tadash municipality, his wife Swarna Rani Sarkar (40), and their daughter Parmita Sarkar Tushi (15), a student of class ten at Tadash Government Girls' High School.
According to the police and eyewitnesses, the perpetrators murdered them and locked them in the flat. As their relatives could not find them for two days, they informed the police. The police broke the lock on Monday at 3 a.m. and found their bodies in the room and on the bed.
Tadash Police Station informed them that their relatives had been trying to contact them by mobile phone for the last two days but had failed. Later, when they saw the locked door from outside, they informed the police. The police broke the lock and found their bodies inside, murdered by throat-cutting. The relatives suspect that the incident may have occurred between Saturday night and Monday.
Assistant Police Superintendent Amrit Kumar Sutradhar (Ullapara Circle) said that the relatives and neighbors saw the deceased last Saturday. The incident occurred at any time after that. We are working to recover the bodies. Since the CID will come and collect evidence from the crime scene, we are working accordingly.
He further stated that after recovering the bodies, they have been sent to Sirajganj 250-bed specialized Bangamata Sheikh Fazilatunnesa Mujib General Hospital for autopsy, and preparations are underway for legal action at the police station.
