Student's body recovered from Notre Dame College hostel in Mymensingh


Voice 9, Dhaka Bureau: The body of Imtiaz Galib Rhythm, 17, was recovered from the dormitory of Mymensingh Notre Dame College.

The incident took place on Tuesday (January 30) in his room at Nabil Hostel of Notre Dame College. Kotwali police station Officer-in-Charge (OC) AKM Mizanul Haque confirmed the matter.

Imtiaz is the son of Rafiqul Islam of Chatmohar upazila in Pabna district. He was a student of Class XI.

SI Ashraful said Imtiaz Ghalib returned to the hostel on Tuesday afternoon after the rhythm holiday. In the afternoon, he committed suicide by locking the door of his room with a muffler. When he didn't open the door for some time, his friends called out to him. However, when there was no response, they broke open the door and found Rhythm hanging from the fan. Later, he was taken to Mymensingh Medical College Hospital where doctors declared him dead.

The body has been kept in the mortuary, the SI added. His relatives have been informed. He wasn't in college. He went back to college today. The reason behind his suicide will be known once his family comes to know about it.
