17 Killed, 2 Injured in lightning strikes in Pratapgarh, Chandauli, and Kaushambi!


Voice 9, New Delhi Bureau: At least 17 people have died in rain-related incidents in Pratapgarh, Chandauli, and Kaushambi districts of Uttar Pradesh. 11 people have died in Pratapgarh district, 4 in Chandauli district, and three, including two women, in Kaushambi. Kaushambi Sub-Divisional Magistrate Akash Singh said three people were killed in Lodhon Ka Purwa village during the rains. 

At least 11 people were killed in Uttar Pradesh's Pratapgarh district after being struck by lightning in Manikpur, Kandhai, Fatanpur, Jethwara, Antu, and Sangramgarh police station areas. The bodies of all the deceased have been handed over to their family members. The family is devastated by his death. Three people, including a lawyer, were killed in the Manikpur police station area: one in Fatanpur, one in Jethwara, one in Antu, and two in Sangramgarh police station.

At the same time, four people have died in different areas of Chandauli district due to lightning. Two people died while grazing buffaloes in Baruipur village under the Alinagar police station area and one each in Bhisauri and Kunda Kala villages under the Mughalsarai police station area. Chandauli ADM Abhay Kumar Pandey confirmed the deaths. 

Three people, including two women, were killed in lightning strikes in Kaushambi district. Sub-Divisional Magistrate Akash Singh said Rani Devi (19) and Shivkant (12) died on the spot after being struck by lightning while transplanting paddy during rains in Purwa village of Lodhon. In a similar incident in Dhavda village, Urmila Devi (40) was killed and Kaushalya Devi was injured, the official said.
