magnitude of 7.1. According to a secondary warning from the China Earthquake
Networks Centre, the earthquake occurred at 9:05 a.m. (0105 GMT) and was 10 km
deep, as reported by Reuters.

morning, tremors were felt throughout northern India, including Delhi-NCR.
Gokarneshwar was the epicenter of the earthquake. According to the United
States Geological Survey (USGS), it struck 93 kilometers northeast of Lobuche
in Nepal at 6:35 a.m. People were observed fleeing their homes as a result of
the strong tremors that were detected in Kathmandu and the surrounding areas.
At 7.1, the earthquake activity's magnitude was noted. According to the USGS,
the earthquake happened on January 7 at 6:35 a.m. close to the Nepal-Tibet
border.
With an epicenter near Dinggye County, Tibet, China, the earthquake, which
occurred at 6:50 AM, had a Richter scale value of 7.0. The strong vibrations
brought back memories of the deadly Gorkha earthquake on April 25, 2015, which
had a magnitude of 7.6 (Baisakh 12, 2072 BS).
The eastern highland districts of Solukhumbu, Okhaldhunga, Khotang,
Sankhuwasabha, and Bhojpur were especially affected, while the Tarai region was
also shaken. Significant shaking was felt in the Tibet-bordering region of
Solukhumbu.
Although the quake lasted a considerable amount of time, no immediate damage
was observed in the marketplace, a resident of Salleri, the district seat of
Solukhumbu, told RSS.
