Prime Minister Modi expresses worries to Putin about the missile attack on the children's hospital in Kiev

Voice 9, Delhi Bureau, and PTI : Prime Minister Narendra Modi sent a clear message to Russian President Vladimir Putin on Tuesday, advising him that a peace effort cannot be successful in the face of bombs and bullets and that a military solution to the Ukraine conflict is not feasible. He also raised concerns about a missile strike that occurred at a children's hospital in Kyiv.

A day after a suspected Russian missile attacked a children's hospital in Kyiv, sparking international anger, Modi made the following statement during his televised opening comments at the summit discussions with Putin in the Kremlin: "The killing of innocent children is heart-wrenching and very painful."

"Let's take war, any conflict, or terrorist acts. Any person who believes in humanity feels pain when people die, and especially when innocent children die. When we feel such pain, the heart simply explodes, and I had the opportunity to talk about these issues with you yesterday," Modi told Putin.

On Monday evening, the Russian leader's mansion hosted a private meeting between the prime minister and Putin, during which the two had lengthy conversations. A missile assault by Russia on Ukrainian towns resulted in damage to the Ohmatdyt Children's Hospital in Kyiv. During the strikes, at least 38 people died, including two in the hospital.
