21 houses set on fire in Bihar's Nawada, Bihar: 15 arrested

 


Voice 9, Bihar Desk: Fifteen individuals were apprehended on Thursday in relation to the incineration of 21 residences in Nawada, Bihar, which transpired on Wednesday evening, as confirmed by the state government. Authorities indicated that further arrests are anticipated. In response to this alarming incident, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar dispatched a fact-finding team to the scene to conduct a thorough investigation.


Rajiv Ranjan, the spokesperson for the ruling Janata Dal (United) [JD(U)], emphasized that Dalits should not succumb to fear, despite the opposition's allegations that the Bihar government has failed to safeguard their interests. In a video address, Ranjan pledged stringent measures against those implicated in the arson.


The conflagration that engulfed 21 homes in Nawada district was reported by police on Wednesday evening. Initial inquiries have pointed towards a land dispute as a potential catalyst for this tragic event, which unfolded in the Manjhi Tola area under the jurisdiction of the Mufassil police station.
