Sangbad Voice 9, New Delhi Bureau: India observed its 76th Republic Day on January 26, 2025, featuring the celebrated parade at Kartavya Path as the centerpiece of the festivities. This year also signifies the 75th anniversary of the enforcement of India's Constitution. Leaders including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, Vice President Jagdeep Dhankar, and Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge shared their greetings with the citizens on this important occasion.
The
Republic Day parade highlighted India's rich cultural diversity, featuring
tableaux from 16 states, Union Territories, and Central Government departments.
Andhra Pradesh's tableau focused on ‘Etikoppaka Bommalu,’ showcasing
eco-friendly wooden toys. Uttar Pradesh presented its Maha Kumbh tableau, while
West Bengal highlighted its welfare initiatives through the “Lakshmir Bhandar”
and “Lok Prasar Prakalpa” tableaux.
The grand
celebration of the 76th Republic Day commenced at Kartavya Path. Prior to the
parade, President Murmu raised the national flag, and at 10:30 am, PM Modi
honored the National War Memorial. This year, Indonesian President Prabowo
Subianto served as the chief guest, with military contingents from Indonesia
participating in the march-past.
In a message to the nation, PM Modi conveyed
his Republic Day wishes, stating on X, “Happy Republic Day. Today,
we celebrate 75 glorious years of being a Republic. We bow to all the great
women and men who made our Constitution and ensured that our journey is rooted
in democracy, dignity and unity. May this occasion strengthen our efforts
towards preserving the ideals of our Constitution and working towards a
stronger and prosperous India.”
