Voice 9, Dhaka Bureau: Mohammad Ali Touhin, a 15-year-old local youngster, drowned while having a dip on Bangladesh's Cox's Bazar beach, according to Voice 9's Dhaka bureau. His three friends were saved intact.
On Tuesday, July 18, at about 4:30 p.m., the
event happened near Laboni Point on the sand. Mohammad Hossain of the Nurpara
neighborhood in Cox's Bazar municipality is the father of Touhin.
The missing's elder brother, Tawheed, stated,
"My brother and a few of his friends went to the beach to bathe. The huge
waves of the sea carried away Touhin and his four friends. Three friends were
eventually saved by the beach staff, but my brother is still missing.
Mahbub, a beach worker, claimed that along with visitors, residents also use the beach for bathing. At Laboni Point, four youngsters were enjoying a bath when they were carried away by the waves.
Lifeguards and beach staff successfully saved the lives of three individuals. Touhin, the youngster, is, however, not there. Cox's Bazar Tourist Police SP Zillur Rahman said he could not be traced until the evening. The authorities are accompanied by the family members of the missing. The operation to rescue Touhin continues.
