Voice 9, Dhaka Bureau: In Bangladesh's Satkhira district, a case has been filed following the death of a school student in Kaliganj upazila. Four teachers have been arrested by police in connection with the incident. On Monday morning, the father of the deceased, Dinabandhu Das of Hijla village in Kaliganj upazila, reported the incident to Kaliganj Police Station, accusing five persons, including the headmaster.
The people arrested were named Abdul Monaim Par, the headmaster of Nalta Secondary School; Abdul Mohit, the assistant headmaster; Vacation Chandra Khan; and Siddhartha Roy Chowdhury, the assistant teacher. Another suspect in the case, assistant instructor Monirul Islam, has been missing since the incident occurred.
Raj Pratap Das, 15, the son of grocer Dinabandhu Das of Hijla Chandipur village in Kaliganj upazila of Satkhira, was identified as the victim. He studied at Kaliganj's Nalta Secondary School in class IX.
It should be noted that on Sunday, July 16, at approximately 9:30 a.m., the sixth-grade student's classmates cut the birthday cake on the third floor of Nalta Secondary School in Kaliganj's extended building. There were Mushfiqur Rahman, Jobair, R. Rafi, Raj Pratap Das, and others. Assistant teachers at the school, Akash Chandra Khan and Monirul Islam saw the issue.
In this event, instructor Akash Chandra Khan beat up four people, including student Raj Pratap Das. Raj Pratap died soon after returning home.
The student's body was then brought to the school on Sunday, July 16, at 3 p.m., where protesters and vandals damaged it. A teacher was suspected of killing Raj Pratap in a teacher-on-teacher attack, and thousands of enraged crowds chanted slogans calling for justice for the teacher in question. During this time, protestors wrecked eight schoolteachers' motorcycles, set two of them on fire, and broke the lock on the teachers' auditorium.
