Voice 9, News Desk: On Thursday, the Jammu and Kashmir Police claimed to have busted a honey trap ring by detaining four people, including two women, in the Srinagar area of Central Kashmir.
In a tweet, Srinagar Police wrote, "4 members of a honey trap gang were arrested: 1. Firdous Ahmed Mir of Rainawari (fake SP) 2. Mohd Tariq Mir of Lal Bazar (fake reporter) 3. Ashiya of Bemina (pseudo honey trap girl) 4. Masrat Mir of Habba Kadal (fake crime branch officer). They used to lure gullible people and extort money."
"The Girl used to set up meetings with the gullible person. The other members of the gang would impersonate professionals like reporters/police and then blackmail the victim. One house of female accused in Mehjoor Nagarwas was used. FIR No. 68/2023 U/s 392,472,419 IPC at Sadar PS", it said.
