Voice 9, New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi unfurled the national flag
on Thursday and delivered his 11th consecutive address to the nation from the
historic Red Fort on the 78th Independence Day. The overarching theme of this
year's commemoration, 'Viksit Bharat @ 2047', sets forth the ambitious vision
of propelling the nation towards attaining developed status by the year 2047.
The ceremonial proceedings at the Red Fort commenced with Prime Minister
Modi's reception by esteemed government and military dignitaries, followed by a
meticulous inspection of the Guard of Honor, meticulously orchestrated by the
Indian Navy this year. A poignant moment ensued as the prime minister hoisted
the national flag, accompanied by a resounding 21-gun salute rendered by the
1721 Field Battery, utilizing indigenous 105mm light field guns.
Noteworthy this year is the attendance of approximately 6,000 distinguished
guests representing a myriad of societal segments, including the youth, tribal
communities, agrarians, women, and beneficiaries of diverse governmental
initiatives, all convened to partake in this august ceremony.
