According to reports, Tarin, daughter of Tofail Ahmed of Tafadar village in Faridganj's Charmandari upazila, was married to Manik of Basu Patwari village in Raipur's Keroa upazila.
The wedding was held at the bride's house on Friday afternoon. Hundreds of people fell ill after consuming the meal. They were then taken to the hospital.
Bridegroom Manik said that three hundred people ate at the dawa. My family members fell ill after consuming the meal. I don't understand why that happened. I don't know if others have done that.
Raipur Upazila Health and Family Planning Officer Dr. Baharul Alam said 25 patients have come to our hospital after falling ill. All are being treated in hospitals. The incident is believed to have been caused by food poisoning. The condition of two of the injured is serious. Food should be tested to find out why this is happening.
