General Hospital, an AIDS-infected mother has given birth for the first time.
The procedure was carried out through a cesarean section on Sunday morning
under the supervision of a five-member medical board. This is the first time an
operation has been used to deliver a child by an HIV-positive mother at a
district hospital.

General Hospital, a woman from the Jessore Sadar Upazila recently visited the
facility for a prenatal checkup. He received an HIV diagnosis at that time.
Since then, the gynecological department's resident surgeon has been a
specialist.
The baby was born on Sunday, August 27, through
a cesarean section at the hospital's discretion. A five-person medical board
was established for this.
The hospital's resident surgeon and a gynecology
department expert are on the board. Junior Consultants Nilufar Yasmin, Dr.
Zafar Iqbal, Dr. Maskia Jannati, Idris Ali, and the Registrar are also

baby's delivery.
The registrar of Jessore 250-bed General
Hospital, who is in charge of the operation, Golam Mortuza, said this operation
on a pregnant woman with HIV is susceptible. However, it was done risk-free.
For the first time in Jessore, an HIV-infected woman gave birth through
surgery. Apart from this, through this woman, the program of providing free
treatment and medicines to the HIV/AIDS-infected women in Jessore has started.
HTC, the RTV Center set up for this program in Jessore, will be inaugurated on
September 3.

This operation has not been done before in Jessore. In addition, through HTC
and the RTV Center, patients living with HIV/AIDS in the region can get the
health care they need.
