This operation has been implemented to provide assistance and facilitate the repatriation of Indian citizens currently stranded in Israel who wish to return to their home country.
In a statement posted on X (formerly known as Twitter), EAM Jaishankar stated, "We are launching #OperationAjay to facilitate the return of our citizens from Israel who desire to come back. Special charter flights and other arrangements are being organized. We are fully committed to ensuring the safety and well-being of our nationals abroad."
The recent series of attacks by Hamas militants from Gaza against Israel, followed by Israeli retaliation, has resulted in the loss of over 1,200 lives, causing growing concerns worldwide.
It has been reported that approximately 18,000 Indians are currently residing in Israel, and there have been no reports of harm to them.
