Bangladesh Dengue: 10 more people die in 24 hours


Voice 9, Dhaka Bureau: Dengue has recently evolved into a deadly disease throughout the nation, including Dhaka. Ten more people had died of dengue the previous day. 1,361 patients with the illness have been admitted to the hospital at the same time. In all, 155 people died from dengue from January 1 to July 20 of this year, while a total of 27,547 people contracted the disease.

This information was provided in a report on Thursday, signed by Dr. Md. Zahidul Islam, in charge of the Department of Health's Health Emergency Operation Center.  

1,361 patients with the virus have been hospitalized in hospitals in the past 24 hours; 685 of them were admitted to various hospitals in Dhaka, and 676 of them were admitted to other hospitals outside of Dhaka.

At present, government and private hospitals all around the nation are caring for a total of 5,937 dengue patients. 3,522 dengue patients are now being treated in Dhaka, while 2,415 more are being treated in facilities outside of Dhaka.

So far this year, 27,547 patients have been admitted to hospitals across the country due to dengue. Of them, 17,243 were treated in Dhaka and 10,304 outside Dhaka.

Of the infected, 21,455 people have returned home after recovering from the hospital. Of them, 13,600 have recovered in Dhaka and 7,855 outside Dhaka and returned home. With nine deaths in the last 24 hours, 155 people have died of dengue so far this year.
