Voice 9, Dhaka Bureau: A tragic
incident occurred in the Golbunia village area where a mother killed her son by
poisoning and later committed suicide by consuming poison. The bodies of the
mother and son were found in Pirojpur's Bhandaria. The child was poisoned as a
result of a family feud, and the mother also took poison. Both died afterward.
The event occurred at 7 p.m. on Wednesday in Golbunia village in the Telikhali
union of the upazila.
Rozina Begum, 35, was the wife of Rubel
Hawlader, an easy bike driver from Golbunia village, and their son
Faisal Hossain Hridoy, a second-grade student at Golbunia Nesaria Dakhil
Madrasa.
Hriday was playing on the road, according
to family sources. His mother, Rozina Begum, called him and brought him home at
the moment. Later, he shut the door and mixed poison with milk, forcing
his kid to swallow. He then consumed poison himself. When the kid wailed after
being poisoned, his neighbors came to his aid. Later, the boy died on the way
to the local upazila's Mathbaria health facility.
The kid was brought to the health complex
dead, according to Dr. Rakibur Rahman Sagar, medical officer of Mathbaria
Health Complex. Rozina Begum was taken to Barishal Sher-e-Bangla Medical
College Hospital in severe condition.
Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Bhandaria Police
Station Ashiquzzaman said police were sent to the spot after hearing the
incident. It is known that the child died before being brought to the health
complex, while Rozina Begum died on the way to Barishal Sher-e-Bangla Medical
College Hospital. Further legal action will be taken after the investigation.
