Voice 9, News Desk: Historical sculptures are being neglected in Pathrahatha village, Umaria district's Chandia tehsil. Many sculptures related to Buddhism were discovered on the banks of the Umrar River decades ago, at various dates. The team of archaeological experts has been there several times with the help of the locals, but no measures have been taken to safeguard them. As a result, the legacy is becoming increasingly fragmented and deteriorating.
Due to a lack of upkeep, archaeological sculptures have been lying on the banks of the Kathali river in Pathrahatha village, Tehsil Chandia, Umaria district, for decades. The sculptures, according to experts, are largely connected to Buddhism. Other sculptures include Lord Buddha and Vishnu in various forms. It is reported that sculptures are frequently discovered during thorough excavations in the area.
To keep them safe, the people have housed them in the village temple. According to social activist Bala Singh, we went there with a researcher and an archeology professor. The sculptures' history may be maintained.
According to archaeologist and senior lecturer Pradeep Singh Gehlot, these sculptures date from the 16th century. Pathrahatha village is extremely rich in archaeological sites.
The sculptures are worn and shattered. We have repeatedly urged that they be preserved in a museum. In addition, an inscription was discovered. No one has ever read or comprehended it. It is critical that they be protected.
