Voice 9, New Delhi Bureau: A 20-year-old college student in Delhi was raped last week outside her residence by a guy. He reportedly claimed to be a police officer and threatened her with an obscene film. Ravi Solanki, the suspect, was arrested on Thursday. On July 7, Solanki reportedly recorded a cellphone video of the young woman and her boyfriend in his vehicle. He rode his bike beside the automobile and waited for her lover to drop her off outside her Prashant Vihar flat.
He walked into the apartment complex and
pretended to be a cop when he saw her on the stairs. He is accused of showing
her the footage and threatening to release it online. According to the
authorities, he assaulted her on the spot, raped her on the steps, and left.
The victim told her boyfriend about the crime,
and the two of them reported it to the police.
The police described it as a "blind
case" since the culprit was unknown to the student. The police were able
to find the accused man thanks to evidence such as a drawing based on the
woman's description and CCTV video.
