Voice 9, International Desk: The death toll in the Hawaii wildfires has risen to 36. The Pacific nation issued an official statement saying that the death toll has risen from six to 36. It is anticipated to rise further as search and rescue operations continue. US President Joe Biden has also sent help to Hawaii. The President declared that all federal assets have been directed to assist in the fight against the flames that have devastated sections of Maui.
President Biden went on to say that the US
Coast Guard and Navy have been assisting in rescue operations and that the
Marine Corps has equipped Hawaii with Black Hawk helicopters to combat the
fires.
On Wednesday, terrible flames swept over
Hawaii's Maui Island. At the same time, Hurricane Dora was sweeping across the
islands, and the flames spread owing to the strong winds. The flames have
expanded to Hawaii's Big Island as a result of Hurricane Dora's powerful winds.

announcement from the Hawaii Tourist Department, around 11,400 people had been
airlifted out of the island, with an additional 2,000 set to leave on Friday,
August 11, 2023.
Meanwhile, Hawaiian Electric personnel have
been advising residents to be patient as they work to restore electricity to
consumers in West Maui and Upcountry, according to the news report.
