activist washed away while preaching flood warnings in Chattogram. The
floodwaters carried away Junaidul Islam Zarif, a college student, and Chhatra
League activist. He posted flood-related alerts on social media all day long.
When there was an emergency, he provided his mobile number. He
demanded the immediate availability of school and college structures in
Lohagara as refugee facilities in a post on his Facebook page on Monday night.
He issued a dire warning to everyone about the deteriorating
flood scenario. Despite his warning, many others lived, but he did not.
Around 2 a.m. on Monday, Zarif was being carried away by
floodwaters on his way from his house in the Amirabad union of the Lohagara
upazila to a safe refuge. About 12 hours later, his body was discovered. The
local Mohammad Zulfikar Ali Bhutto's son is Zarif. He attended BGC Trust
University to study engineering and computer science. Amirad participated in
Union Chhatra League politics. He served as the Liberation War Students Forum's
district general secretary for Chittagong South.
The bill is just next to Zarif's house, according to Arif Uddin,
vice president of Zarif's neighboring Upazila Chhatra League. They were

Upazila Chhatra League. He has frequently warned locals to remain in a secure
location. Zarif's unexpected passing leaves a vacuum that cannot be replaced.

Lohagara Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Md. Rashedul
Islam, said a university student named Junaidul Islam Zarif was washed away by
floodwaters around 2 am on Monday. His body was found on Tuesday afternoon.
